I was mostly looking forward to the blue shades as a blue smoky eye is my total favourite going-out look, and I wasn't at all disappointed when I opened the palette up....Astral Blue is absolutely beautiful, a shimmery, glittery, super bright blue that I hope I have the guts to wear! If I'm feeling a little more tame then Earth Shine, a shimmering almost-navy will look amazing as a dramatic evening look.
Best of all is that the palette also contains some bang-on-trend berry shades - I tried Solar and Stargaze yesterday and they matched perfectly with a plum lipgloss. There are a few other shades that I would never have chosen individually, but am really looking forward to trying - Aurora and Terrestrial are amazing greens that remind me of my days working for Urban Decay during my teens, when I wore those types of colours every day. Also great about this palette is that it contains 2 shadows that I will most definitely get plenty of use from - Eclipse, a silvery taupe which is the sort of shade I reach for most days, and Dark Matter, a glittery black that I could see me using as a liner.
As for the quality - I've only used a couple of the colours so far but the shadows are super soft and I did find them really easy to blend. I always use an eyeshadow primer anyway (currently BareMinerals Prime Time which I LOVE :)) and these shadows lasted a full day with no creasing, so that was a bonus. Best of all? It only cost £7.99. Kerching! For 12 shadows in such a variety of shades I think that is a really good buy. And if I drop it and it shatters (which I inevitably will do - I have form in this), it's not the end of my world - I can just replace. What's not to love?!
Have you tried the Sleek Celestial palette, or any other Sleek palettes? What did you think?
