Ciate Haute House

I was beyond excited when, a couple of weeks ago, I got a message on Twitter from the good folk at Ciate telling me I had won a super cute Haute House nail polish set. Eeep! As the dark nights and grey days draw in, I start reaching for more wintery polishes and the beauties in this little kit fit the bill perfectly.

Aside from the box being completely adorable (I wish my actual house looked like this. Furreal.), the five polishes inside are all completely wearable. the shades are:
Tickle My Fancy - deep emerald green
Sasspot - blackish-purple
Can Can - intense, dark red
For The Thrill Of It - golden bronze
and - my fave - Knee Highs - inky navy blue

All of the polishes have a metallic sheen and are described as 'Rich Ink Formula', designed to give full, even coverage in just one coat. I am a huge fan of Ciate polishes anyway as I find them amongst the best long-wearing polishes I own, but I was sceptical of the whole 'one coat' thing; the colours are so intense and deep. After trying them out as soon as they arrived, I was impressed that they do actually live up to the claim! The only one that was slightly sheer and would need extra coats for an intense result was For The Thrill Of It, I think due to it being a lighter shade than the others.
One coat later!
I was especially impressed with Knee Highs which evenly coated my nails in the most gorgeous inky blue in just one stroke. It lasted a good three days without chipping too - bonus! I think I will get plenty of wear out of these polishes over winter as they are both subtle enough for day time and glam enough for a night out. The dinky paint pot bottles and quirky packaging don't hurt, either.

At £22 this would make a great Christmas gift. Have you tried any Ciate polishes?
