Metrocentre #IntuColours Fashion Event

I've been away for a few weeks whilst my blog's been undergoing a little nip & tuck. Whaddya reckon? I wanted my blog to look a bit more grown up than it did before, but couldn't bear to lose my dinky Meme graphic from the title. And I wanted polka dots. Pink ones. Soooooo...not very grown up at all, really. Still. I like it!

A few weeks ago I was very kindly invited to a blogger fashion show event at Metrocentre Gateshead. I love Metrocentre for a few reasons - it's indoors, so great for rainy days, it's open until 9pm, so on several occasions I've been able to panic shop after work when I've needed something for the following day, and, it's only a couple of miles from where I live, so couldn't be more convenient.

The event was a preview of some of the new spring/summer collections from the likes of River Island, Warehouse and Superdry, and was also promoting the centre's own personal styling service (which I've blogged about before, here). The guys and gals at Metrocentre had gone out of their way to welcome us bloggers with cupcakes, macarons and cocktails on arrival. I was driving so was restrained with the cocktails....not so much with the cupcakes and macarons, though.

The theme of the event was 'Let Your True Colours Shine', the idea being that we ditch the black and dull wintery shades and add a pop of colour to our wardrobes ready for the (hopefully) warmer weather. I love seeing all the new colourful collections the shops bring out around now, and I have wardrobes full of just about every colour clothing, yet somehow I'm still always drawn to black and navy; especially for nights out, so I'd definitely benefit from Metrocentre's Personal Style Team's colour matching service, where they guide you through spring/summer trends and which colours will work for you. I was definitely inspired by some of the amazing catwalk outfits.

In additon to the show we were also given amazing goodie bags containing lots of beauty bits from House of Fraser, as well as a super cute notepad from local company notepds which I don't want to use as it's too pretty!

I'm looking forward to a payday splurge at Metrocentre later this month, having seen some of the gorgeous new collections - I don't really need much convincing to go shopping, but some of the pieces I saw on the Style Team's rail were to die for, so....!

Thanks to Metrocentre for a fab event :)
