The theme is Style Garden, so Town Square currently has it's very own...well, garden, complete with hedgerows and white picket fences. This garden though, is full of fashion from some of the retailers in the centre. We were treated to a fashion show made up of Coast, Warehouse and House of Fraser pieces whilst sipping raspberry Bellinis and enjoying beauty treats from Liz Earle, Show Beauty (which I am OBSESSED with right now. OBSESSED.), Clarins, and Kiehl's, amongst others.
Michaela from the centre's Style Team talked us through some key fashion trends, and I was pleased to see that bright shades are bursting back in again for S/S16 (and not just because I was wearing a hot pink top, honest) - after months of navy and grey, the shops are looking like a rainbow-coloured bowl of Dolly Mixtures on a summer's day. And everything just seems cheerier. Stripes, too, are all over the high street.
Yet again, I made the mistake of taking my car, so yet again, stopped myself after one Bellini. Probably for the best though, to be honest - there were so many tempting treats on offer I'm not sure my credit card could have taken it (because a few drinks in the vicinity of shops usual means me racking up some serious spending).
One Bellini, though, does allow for a little bit of spending. Whilst the event is on (so - err - tomorrow), there are offers on in some stores in the centre. Not one to ever turn my nose up at a discount, I bagged myself a cute Warehouse top I'd been eyeing up, with 20% off. To see the discounts on offer, just pick up a leaflet at the Style Garden.
The Metrocentre guys and gals kindly gave us goodie bags which were, I have to say, awesome, and included some amazing treats like Creme de la Mer samples, Kiehl's treats and flowers from The Rebel Flower Company.
Thank you to the IntuMetrocentre team for inviting me to this fab event!
IntuMetrocentre's S/S16 Showcase is on 16th &17th April at Town Square, outside House of Fraser.
