There's nothing I love more than skipping around the fabulous Beauty Hall at my favourite North East department store, Fenwick, checking out gorgeous new products from the dozens of beauty houses and leaving laden with iconic green shopping bags full of treats (and possibly a cake or three), so I always get pretty excited by Beauty Week. (See last year's post here). During Beauty Week, some of the most glamorous, luxurious brands in the Beauty Hall hold events and master classes to show off their newest collections - basically, it's a beauty lover's dream come true.
Last week I was invited to a blogger preview event for Beauty Week (which starts today!), which had me twerking around my spare room as soon as the email invite arrived. As part of the preview, we bloggers would be able to try out some of the treatments and services the beauty counters are offering during Beauty Week, including make up lessons at Bobbi Brown and Charlotte Tilbury, summer product launches at YSL and Tom Ford, and nail treatments at Clarins and Nails Inc. Sweet!
So, that's how I found myself in Mason + Rye alongside a host of other lovely North East bloggers last week, sipping prosecco and nibbling on THE MOST DELICIOUS sparkly macarons, whilst Fenwick Newcastle's Beauty Buyer Grace gave us the lowdown on all things Beauty Week, and the evening ahead. Appointment cards for each of the beauty houses were laid out on tables ready for us to choose from once Grace had finished her introduction, so I strategically placed myself between Bobbi Brown and Tom Ford (why does that sound a bit strange when I read it back?!) and managed to bag cards to visit both counters. Yay!
First I headed off to Bobbi Brown, a brand I'm currently obsessed with, due to a demo I saw recently by the brilliant Hannah Martin, one of BB's Pro make up artists, which I loved so much that I went out and bought almost all of the products she used in her demo. BB have just launched the Beachy Nudes Collection, which includes eye palettes, bronzers and lip colours, all of which will help give that gorgeous beachy Kate Upton glow (I'll take the lot, thanks!). My BB artist used the Nude Eye Palette on me, which I was instantly drawn to due to the beautiful sparkle and pinkish-nude tones which will look amazing in summer. The palette is priced at £36 and is Limited Edition, which can only mean one thing - WE MUST BUY IT AS A MATTER OF URGENCY. It's definitely on my payday wish-list - check it (and the other Limited Edition eye palettes in the collection) out here.
Once I was looking about as much like Kate U as I'm ever likely to, I headed over to Tom Ford. I chose this as it's a brand that I've not used before. Not sure why, as the frankly beautiful packaging is exactly the sort of thing I'm drawn to. The TF ladies talked us through the just-launched Soleil Colour Collection which is basically the most glamorous summer vacay you've ever seen, in beauty form. The collection includes gorgeous sparkly cream and powder eye colours, super moisturising lip colours and beautiful bronzers, but for me the standout product is the stunning Sheer Cheek Duo in Bicoastal, which is a soft rose pink blush and highlighter in a beautiful gold compact. I love a pink blush, and this is definitely the sort of thing I'd buy to keep on my bedside table just to look at every day - it's that pretty.
The evening went over way too quickly (several macarons too quickly, I felt), and before I knew it, it was almost time for the store to close. We were all given two goodie bags - one filled with an array of gorgeous products to try from various beauty counters, and a Chanel one (yes I'll admit I got just a teensy bit excited when I saw this!) containing a Rouge Coco Stylo lipstick in shade 202, a lovely neutral pink. Amazing!
So - as I said, Fenwick Newcastle Beauty Week starts today and runs until Sunday 15th May. To see the full menu of what the beauty hall is offering this week, see here, and get booked in quick as spaces are limited! I'm so excited for the Flawless Complexion make up lesson I've booked at at Laura Mercier later on in the week.
Oh, did I mention the best bit? Spend £75 and get a FREE Limited Edition Beauty Bag filled with hand-picked treats worth £100! I am ALL. OVER. IT.
Will you be visiting #FenwickBeautyWeek?
*Thanks to the lovely ladies at Fenwick Newcastle for inviting me to the preview event, 'scuse my language but I freakin' LOVED IT. Thanks again Fenwick, and to the lovely ladies at Bobbi Brown and Tom Ford, who were all amazing! x
