Pastel Perfection from Katie Loxton

As you know, I am completely in love with all things Kate Spade - it's the playful, girlie retro-chic styling that gets me. Oooh, and all the purdy colours. Everytime I visit a KS store I just want to lie down amongst all the handbag goodness and live there forever. Then I check my finances and reign things in a bit. I've had some mega bargains from KS outlets in the US, but UK prices are just like, 'WHAAAAT?!' So I'm always on the look out for similarly styled, cute accessories with a cheaper price tag. Step forward Katie Loxton.

A couple of weeks ago the Husband and I went for lunch at one of our fave pubs in Corbridge, Northumberland, and afterwards had the obligatory wander around the shops. Corbridge has a cute selection of independent boutiques, art galleries and antique shops and one of my favourites is Acanthus on Middle Street, which sells a quirky mix of homeware, gifts and accessories. It was there I spotted the cutest selection of pouch bags in a rainbow of pastel shades, with playful quotes stamped in gold lettering on the front - totally my thing.

'OMG. Which one? WHICH ONE?!!' I shouted at the Husband. At one point there were four contenders for my Perfect Pouch pick - Ooh La La in pale mint, Hello Lovely in off-white, Tah Dah! in black, and Pretty in Pink, in, errrmmm,,,, pink. I could quite easily have bought them all, but since this was the Husband's treat, he insisted I choose one (spoilsport). I decided on Hello Lovely, which, with it's neutral tone, will match loads of my summer outfits. And did I mention that it was only £15.99? Oh, I love it! It actually makes me happy to look at. What more could you want in a bag?!

I then noticed that Katie's range also includes the most gorgeous scarves, and I was immediately drawn to the Always and Forever pink heart print Sentiment scarf (£16.50) because of the beautiful pink shades and the fact that the fabric doesn't crease, which means the it hangs beautifully - something I always look for in a scarf and I wasn't disappointed in this! Again I could have bought several  - I loved the navy version of this scarf too.

After browsing Katie's website I've seen about a dozen other pieces I love, so I suspect I'll be adding to my KL collection very soon. I keep thinking about the Tah Dah! Pouch too - classic black, would go with loads.....I think another trip to Corbridge could be on the cards.

What do you think of these pieces?

Katie Loxton is also stocked in Fenwick, Newcastle and John Lewis.
